Origins

Sri Lanka, Kandy Region

The tea industry was born in Ceylon when James Taylor started a tea plantation in Loolecondera estate in Kandy in 1867. He was drawn to the region and it’s not hard to see why, the Kandyan Hills are spectacular - marked by a cool, calming atmosphere and heady fragrant breezes. It is one of Sri Lanka’s most flourishing tea growing regions, but it was also the last Kingdom of Sri Lanka. Known as the central province of Sri Lanka, the tea estates are dotted in the hills surrounding the low-lying valley of Kandy. The altitude is considered ‘mid-grown’, the estates are surrounded by mountains all around, which protects them from wind and helps produce a deeper-coloured, bright and fragrant tea. It’s a strong and full bodied brew.

Go to tea.

The supreme earl grey blend is my go-to blend. My favourite everyday afternoon brew, thank you!

Decent earl grey

It's a decent earl grey. Personally I prefer the stronger bergamot and other flavours found in the French earl grey and found this one a little basic in direct comparison. But it is still a decent tea, and might be better for you if you prefer milder flavours.

What's happened to the tea bags, they used to work now they don't.

I like your tea, it is a premium product, its not cheap. However, this batch has problems with the bags.

The tea bags tear from the glue as the string is disengaged from the bag. Maybe I'm fussy but I don't want tea leaves in my cup after I use a tea bag.

I sure hope this problem is fixed real soon.

If the problem is fixed, I recommend.

If the string keeps tearing the bags I don't recommend

Great Earl Grey tea!

Bought this tea because my usual Earl Grey was out of stock. Was pleasantly surprised by the Tea Drop Earl Grey. Perfectly suits my tastes.
